Almost ever time I open Firefox the first time my home page or nothing else will load. I get out and when I get back in I get a message previous Firefox running slow, do you want to close it? When a allow that it does fine. I have tried refreshing Firefox and that did not help much.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support to see if that makes a difference.
