Email download problem
Been using ThunderBird for many years to access my ATT email account ( [edited] @pacbell.net), but for the last three days it won't allow ThunderBird to access it and download emails. Have reloaded T-Bird, Changed passwords,, etc. but no good. Called ATT twice and they say since I can download from ATT sites it's T-Bird that's the problem....why after this many years???

By "reloaded T-Bird", do you mean you uninstalled and reinstalled it? What exactly happens when you check for messages? Are you getting any error messages?
Completely uninstalled T-Bird and re-installed latest version, but still get same error message when tying to download email:
"Sending of password for user [edited] @pacbell.net did not succeed. Mail server inbound.att.net responded: [SYS/TEMP] Server error - Please try again later."
Email setting checked and are correct, can get email at common.att.com

Instead of the account password, you must use a secure mail key in TB.

Didn't work as I don't have a clue what that very long special password key was. Tried everything, and nothing works: reloaded T-Bird, obtained several new passwords from ATT and hat didn't work with T-Bird, but work on common.att.com email. Still get this Error Message
Sending of password for user [edited] @pacbell.net did not succeed. Mail server inbound.att.net responded: [SYS/TEMP] Server error - Please try again later.
When that's hit I get message to:
RETRY - ENTER PASSWORD - CANCEL
Retry doesn't work, new password doesn't work, and only Cancel takes me out.
Don't ahve a clus what to do next.

tsailers, this is a community support forum and not some sort of private ticket or chat system so you should not post your full email in public.
It's only going to work with a secure mail key. Follow the instructions here:
