for example, I double click to open a email in a new tab, I call it TAB A. And another email in TAB B. I read and scroll the email A's position in TAB A, then I click TAB B to read email B. The scroll position isn't remembered when switching between tabs (longstanding complaint), but it is if messages are opened in separate windows.
