Installed the update 3.6.6 this morning. Ran fine. Shortly thereafter ( and I don't know if this is related ) Norton Internet Security dialog box said system had to be restarted because of a security problem. Restarted PC ( Windows XP Pro all service packs ), started Firefox, got blank page. Tried other sites, same result. IE8 ran fine. I uninstalled Firefox, restarted PC, installed Firefox 3.5.1, now runs fine.

The problem was caused by Norton quarantining 3 files. When I restored those files, FF works again. See this thread for more info: http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/What-is-WS-Reputation-1/m-p/243005/highlight/true

Error console reports the following after loading Firefox on XP Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80570016 (NS_ERROR_XPC_GS_RETURNED_FAILURE) [nsIJSCID.getService]" nsresult: "0x80570016 (NS_ERROR_XPC_GS_RETURNED_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsUrlClassifierListManager.js :: PROT_ListManager :: line 79" data: no]

same thing here.

Same here. Nothing works. Firefox launches, then just sits there. Doesn't matter what website I choose to load...it won't do anything at all. Not even a "connecting" or "loading" message. Firefox is completely disabled by this update for me.

Yep Norton is the culprit so to speak causing the untitled page issue because it's quarantining important files that are needed for the latest Firefox to work

How do I go about installing a previous version of Firefox?
