How do I disable (uninstall) Adblock Plus?
I am trying to watch a missed TV episode. I get a "message" indicating that I have to disable Adblock Plus. Directions given: In right hand corner of Firefox, click on the ABP icon, and uncheck "Enable Adblock Plus". However, there is NO such icon on Firefox' toolbar. I went to your help site; FAQ; checked out forums, etc. You would think "disable Adblock Plus" would be pretty simple, but I guess it's not.

Right-click the ABP icon and click on Enable Adblock Plus so that the check-mark is gone. Same thing when you want re-enable it.
Thank you so much for your reply. I'm sorry you didn't read my email. Since my toolbar does NOT include the icon in question, i.e. ADB, I can neither enable nor disable it. Do you have any additional suggestions incorporating the fact, as noted in my original query, that I have NO ADB icon on my toolbar and where I might find one so that I can disable or enable same? Thank you.
I was having all types of mysterious issues with Firefox 5, various videos would not play, radio streaming audio wouldn't play, couldn't stay logged into anything. Found out it was AdBlock that was blocking everything. Trashed it and all is fine, as it was too complicated to figure out and deal with on everypage. I don't mind people being able to pay for their site with ads. I'm a capitalist.
AdBlock doesn't come with Firefox, "someone" installed it on your PC.
adblock plus installed itself onto my computer. i want it disabled. the suggestions about the icon doesn't apply since there is no icon. tell me how to disable it - i'm very annoyed with mozilla = i don't like the new look either. this is making me angry.
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

The real and genuine Adblock Plus doesn't install itself or without explicit user consent.
You can disable this Adblock Plus by going to Tools (Alt + T) > Add-ons, click Extensions on the left, look for the entry and Disable or Remove. Instead, if it's already visible on the toolbar or status bar (Addon bar), click on the icon and Disable everywhere.
To selectively disable ABP on individual webpages or whole sites:
While there click Options, again Options and check (tick) Show in toolbar or Show in statusbar. Once it appears on the toolbar or statusbar you can easily click on the icon to disable ABP on individual pages like this (https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/781327) by clicking Disable on this page only or click Disable on support.mozilla.com to disable ABP on the whole site / subdomain.
If ABP icon isn't appearing on the toolbar you may have to Customize the toolbar via View (Alt + V) > Toolbars > Customize and bring in the ABP icon (after enabling) to the toolbar.

I'm sure this is a really excellent response, but I must say that I don't have a clue as to what you are talking about. But I thank you just the same.
lol... sorry to have rudely awakened you from your peaceful existence. Actually we were trying to help @bsari. I guess this should have been started as a a new thread. Anyway really sorry.

You didn't awaken me, rudely or otherwise, but your posting and characterizing same is definitely on the rude side! I am glad you are helping @bsari. And I post questions because I am in need of assistance myself. Thank you.
Adblock Plus is causing a problem with Yahoo! Mail. I was trying to do a search on Yahoo! Mail and it was hanging up at l.yimg.com. Finally, I disabled Adblock Plus and the problem was solved. Later, I went back, re-enabled Adblock Plus, tried the same search again, and the search worked OK. ???
Adblock Plus only blocks what is "told" to block, either by the filterset you selected or by custom filters you added to ABP. If your filterset is too aggressive, select a different filter subscription.
Pr you can open Adblock Plus preferences and un-check the enabled box for any specific filter that is blocking something you want to view or causes problems with page loading. If you are unable to figure out how to do that or to figure out which filter needs to be disabled, see the Adblock Plus forum for help.
