I have the latest flash, but firefox says it has disabled it and encourages me to get a newer one. This is nonsense,
OS: Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick)
I am not able to use the APT for ubuntu because I'm behind a proxy. Installing the libflashplayer.so version 10.3.181.34 directly (downloading from adobe) doesn't work - Firefox claims that it has disabled it "for my safety." What? Just let me enable it. My browser is the 64-bit version.

If you have a 64 bit Firefox version then you need a 64 bit Flash plugin.
