Firefox crashes
I downloaded Firefox 7 onto my XP desktop and immediately started having problems. I couldn't open PDFs correctly, then Firefox started crashing time after time. I can't get past the Firefox Start Page. If I take any action, even to click on Help, it crashes. There doesn't seem to be a logical reason because I can ping my ISP and I can ping Mozilla.com. I just can't get past the start page.

Firefox is crashing because it is running out of memory. If there is a memory problem, you can switch off your computer and then restart it and try again. If you continue to have this crash then maybe an external program is messing with your firefox. It's strange to run out of memory just after rebooting your computer.
I wish it were that simple. I don't have a memory problem; what this is has something to do with compatibility between Firefox, Adobe, Nvidia, and XP. For instance: Firefox crashes if I try to take any action past the FF start page; however, it's not a connectivity issue because can ping my ISP as well as Mozilla with no problem. And this all began with downloading FF 7. Another problem is PDFs don't download correctly and lock up when I try to exit and delete the document. I am running an Athlon II x2 24o at 2.81 GHz and 4GB of DDR2, and I have 100GB free on Drive C: and 857GB of free space on a WD 1T ext. drive. If you can think of any compatibility issues I could use help in that area. Thanks for your help.
