firefox is up to date. need 128 bit security encryption
My firefox is up to date. In order to get paperless statements from credit cards I need to have 128 bit security encryption. Card company checked browser and did not continue to make the change to paperless, due to the fact that 128 bit security encryption was not found; also read that: you need to update your browser. How do I get this encryption? thank you

Some websites incorrectly detect encryption capabilities and report that Mozilla Suite and Firefox do not have 128-bit encryption. You may be able to get around this problem by changing the browser's user agent string to that of Internet Explorer.

Can't you bypass that test?
There is usually a link on the page to continue anyway and ignore the check for the encryption check.
If websites complain about 128 bit encryption not available then that can be caused by the "U;" that is no longer present in the user agent of Firefox 4+ versions.

Firefox supports 256 bit encryption ciphers (AES-256) since 2003 in Firebird 0.6, so all Firefox versions have 128 bit and 256 bit encryption.
It's also possible that the bank thinks that Firefox 10 is Firefox 1 (it's just looking for the first digit) and getting confused. Can you tell us the name of the credit card company and someone at Mozilla may be able to reach out to their IT department.
Hi Mark, thanks for explaining this to me. I actually have been making payments and looking at my statement account on line without a problem; this 128-bit showed when I was trying to go paperless for statements. I guess I'll just skip it. Thanks
Thank You. Really appreciate it.
Thank you for explaining this to me. Now I know.
Thank you, your information was very helpful and works. Thanks so much.
