Firefox will crash anytime I attempt to print a webpage. It doesn't happen in safemode. Disabling the Adobe Flash Plugin removes the problem. The Flash Plugin is the current version from adobe.

Let's try a few things here.

Run the flash uninstaller. http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html.

Then, download and install Flash from http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_11_plugin_32bit.exe.

Try printing again. If that doesn't work, start Firefox up in Safe Mode .

Tylerdowner,

Uninstalled and reinstalled Flash. No change. The only thing that seems to consistently resolve the problem is disabling the Flash plugin.

I tried creating a new profile, but when I transfer the data suggested in this: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox I get an error window when opening firefox with the new profile ...something about security settings not working correctly...but I can print every time even though the Flash plugin appears to be installed and enabled. So I assume there is some kind of problem with my current profile. Any suggestions on how to find and correct it or a way to get most of my data into a new profile...that works...would be appreciated.

Ok, you are right, it probably is something like an extension or some setting there.

Recovering important data from an old profile is the up to date article on how to transfer between two profiles. You'll want to only move over the files you need, and also make sure you have Firefox closed before you begin the transfer.

Let me know if that helps :)

Strange. Firefox doesn't disable plugins in Safe mode, so disabling the Flash plugin shouldn't have that effect.

Try to disable hardware acceleration.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.
