Firefox 19.0.2 on XP I have always had firefox set up to open two page, so my home page setting reads https://www.google.com|https://www.google.com

When I open Firefox, I get two tabs, both on Google. If I opened a 3rd tab I got a blank page. Just what I wanted. Now, suddenly - when I open Firefox, I get my two home pages, but if I'm in Page 0 and click HOME, I get TWO MORE tabs open to my home page (for a total of 4 pages).

I read online to replace the pipe with %7C but that causes a -27 Service error.

Something changed inside FF in the latest updates ... how do I get the expected behavior back?

We are trying to figure out what you want to achieve and maybe provide an alternative because it doesn't work with Firefox the way you use currently.

If you set multiple home pages then all those pages will be opened if you click the home button.
That has always been the case in Firefox.
In some cases the current tab may be protected and those pages open all in new tab, so you can end up with two extra tabs if you have two pages set as multiple home pages.

and congrats, Ed & Cor-el, congrats.

Every post *I* made was about the product behavior, until the two of you "top contributors" jumped in and made it about me, my opinions and demands ... and now the other person following the thread because he also has issues with this ...

...has been driven off.

Way to support the product, guys! make things personal and drive off anyone who doesn't think like you think!

Bad show guys.

I too had suffered from the *Same, expected behaviour as before* ... except that it isn't. Something has changed.

I too had seperate pages set up, as I used FF for web dev and would boot it up, to login to several sites and show me other ones.

It no longer behaves as expected/previously experienced.

so something has changed, and I was hoping to find the solution or a workaround..preferably seeing the *oops! thanks for that, please report a bug* sort of comment.

however, after seeing this I shan't.

I just signed up to be able to mention that other people too have this problem/are experiencing this new behaviour, which HAS CHANGED but see no point in posting to request clarification.

- This is due, in part to how the previous question was dealt with/respondent treated.

I signed up and was greeted with this

"Thanks for being Awesome"

and

"Would you like to ask a question in the community support forum?"

so .... Yes I would, but I wont..... as, the previous query was extremely precise and elucidates the *feature* extremely well.

but somehow I don't think he feels extremely awesome after the responses he got.

So, I wish to remain feeling Awesome and so dont wish to engage with the attitudes expressed here, so am simply posting to say that FF has changed its behaviour and is no longer logical - there appears to be a new bug.

SO either no one cares, or just like the quote goes

  • If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it*

So there is a bug, I don't wish to have to go through this same arduous, non-productive process as previous respondents so just thought Id spend the time pointing out the simply stunningly epic *Customer Services/ Community* fail here.

The FF Behaviour logic is now broken. No point asking someone to look at it here, as, they haven't even noticed and fail to respond positevely.

A Pity that.....

I shall endevour to file a bug report as this method is obviously unservicable, but thought I would give up some of my time to point out the Customer service fail. Be it freeware/shareware/consumer lead, customer service is customer service.

Break your product enough times and dont heed the Customers desire, they will go elsewhere.

where the behaviour is as expected.

A long post huh?

well its still shorter than the collected works of all the previous queries, and they got nowhere......

good bye.
