Would making Firefox my default browser cause my Windows Defender to keep turning itself off? Windows 8
Are there any elements of anti-virus within the Mozilla Firefox program, which would turn-off my Windows Defender? I use Windows 8.

hello jukebox, no defender is a totally separate program and it won't be impacted by firefox - they will just run fine next to each other.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
