Why can't I update Flash Player?
I'm using a netbook with 32-bit Windows XP Home and using the Firefox 21.0 browser.
I'm trying to update my Flash Player to version 11.7.700.202, when I download and run install_flashplayer11x32_mssd_aih it reaches around 50% and fails telling me that I lack sufficient privileges... I'm using an administrator account when doing the install.
Can anyone help?

Try to run the Flash installer as Administrator via the right-click context menu (Run as > Administrator).
Didn't work...
"The user does not have sufficient privileges to install Adobe Flash Player"
Right click on the setup file and choose "Run as Administrator"
Else, goto Control Panel, choose Flash(Flash Player) option and then in Advanced tab, use the "Check Now" button and try to update through that.
I have the same problem and none of the above suggestions (which I had already tried) have worked. Looking around the web, this is apparently a common problem with Firefox, and happens every couple of updates.
I've spent an hour on this, and am not going to waste any more time with it when there is a glaring solution (another browser)
This has been an ongoing problem for at least 7 years . . . (I found forum questions going back to 2006) One would think it would be in Mozilla's best interest to fix it . . .lest people like me with a low BS threshold simply "move on."
Use another browser (such as Internet Explorer) to download from here . This is the installer for firefox.
