firefox sync failed to connect to the server / FF 21.0 / Win 7 Ultimate 64
I'm running WIndows 7 Ultimate 64, Firefox 21.0 on an HP Pavilion DV7T laptop. Every time I try to use (sync) Firefox Sync I get the error message " firefox sync failed to connect to the server". I deleted my Sync account and created a new one successfully. I am NOT running ANY firewall software (not even Windows Firewall), nor do I have a current anti-virus program installed / running.
Here is a copy of my latest Sync-Log: http://bit.ly/12WSqqV
Thanks for any help, Dan

Sorry, the 'exact' error message is: "Sync encountered an error while syncing: Failed to connect to the server. Sync will automatically retry this action. [Sync Now]"
Same problem here. Firefox 21.0 on Windows 7 and Ubuntu Linux (12.4 as well as 10.4)
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Creating a profile":
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
Same here. I am on Firefox 25.0.1 on Windows Server 2008 R2.
I recently dismissed a PC for which I wanted to save all my Firefox tabs and bookmarks, so I set up Sync on that Firefox instance.
Now on the new PC I want to connect to Sync, but I do not have the old device anymore.
So I clicked "I don't have the device with me" in the Sync dialog, and then clicked on "I have lost my other device", after inserting my credentials. However, Sync always tells me it can't log in ("Incorrect account name or password").
I am 100% sure about the account name and password.
