My Options->Sync does not offer a manage account so I cannot find a "recovery key" to sync with my Galaxy note III android.
I run firefox browser on Windows 7. I am trying to synch with my android Galaxy note 3. When I am asked for a recovery key I am directed to pull down the "sync" option an use the choices. But all I pull down is a menu to set up synch. How do I find my recovery? I have tried rebooting with no effect. Thank you

hello pcohen, the "manage account" section will only show up once your firefox desktop version is connected to an existing sync account. it sounds like you'll first have to set-up sync and pair your mobile device afterwards: How do I set up Sync on my computer?
thanks for the answer but not only can I not obtain my security Key. That is half of the problem. Also when I go thru the motions of entering a 12 digit key on both my computer and android I get a "progress" bar on the android and the screen says "waiting for device" and eventually firefox on the android crashes.
This is not well set up by mozilla.
You need to set up Sync on at least one desktop computer to be able to add other devices via the 12-character pairing code.
Both devices need to be online at the same time if you want to pair a device with the (3x4) 12-character code.
Sync needs to be set up and working on at least one (desktop) computer, so you can enter the 12-character code, provided by the device (computer) that you want to pair, in three fields to pair a device on the computer that has a working Sync setup.
Enter all details like the account name (email address) and password and the 26-character Sync key manually to connect to an existing sync account instead of using the 12-character code to pair a device if pairing isn't possible.
- open "Tools > Options > Sync" or "Firefox > Set Up Sync"
- click "Set Up Firefox Sync" to go to "Firefox Sync Setup"
- click "I Have an Account" : Connect
- click "I don't have the device with me" at the bottom to enter the account settings (email, password, sync key)
this did not solve the problem.
Thanks for trying. I have done all these things with no result. When I do as you say and enter "connect" on the computer it triggers a "progress" bar on the android with the accompanying text "waiting for device". Clearly they are connected because it is the computer "connect" that triggers the android device. However the android "progress" bar remains without progress and eventually android Firefox crashes.
