I am unable to find our use the View Marks again, help?
I lost all of my bookmark icons and the "star" on the toolbar to open the bookmark page. I have updated to the current version of Firefox AND I have installed "Viewmarks." Neither one of these have helped me. The last thing I remember before this happened, was I had just cleared my cache, which I do frequently. Then the icons and the page disappeared. Help anyone?

I installed ViewMarks in a different profile and its button looks a bit like a book with a ribbon hanging out. Do you have that button? The only star I see is the standard Firefox "add bookmark" star toward the right end of the address box.

Can you attach a screenshot?
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/how-do-i-create-screenshot-my-problem
Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.
Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible.
- Firefox menu button > Options
- View > Toolbars (press F10 to display the menu bar)
- Right-click empty toolbar area
Use Toolbar Layout (Customize) to open the Customize window and set which toolbar items to display.
- check that "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
- if "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the toolbar palette into the Customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar
- if missing items are in the toolbar palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar
- if you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar setup
Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.
This is what I use to get, now I don't get anything.....not even the star icon to the left of the address area. I get a completely blank page where it showed all of the icons. Sorry. My paste function is out of wack today. What I have to do is use the drop-down Bookmark function. It's ok, but not a convenient as the Viewmark Icon Page.
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: Command+Shift+F).
If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top of the screen to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear. Click the Maximize button (top right corner of the Navigation Toolbar) to leave full screen mode or right-click empty space on a toolbar and choose "Exit Full Screen Mode" or press the F11 key.
I am not following you. What does having full screen have to do with the icons on their own page not showing up, which are now called "View marks?" I really do appreciate you offering to help me. I guess I am not being clear. I am very computer savvy so don't be afraid to tell me stuff in your own computer language. You know how you can take a select few of you fave site and save them and to the left of the address bar is a star? (not the +). Well that opens up a page of with icons and small pics of the sites that you visit on a regular basis. They are now gone. The page is blank and the start does nothing. Thanks.
Are you sure the one you were using before was the ViewMarks extension? Or was that just a guess??
Could you check your extensions to see whether anything bookmark related is disabled? Open the Add-ons page using either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a
- orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. The disabled extension cluster toward the bottom. Can you find anything relevant there?
You might also check for extension updates using the "gear" button above the list > Check for Updates.

TY Jscher. You lead me in the right direction. I did what you had suggested. I guess it is just the new version of Firefox. I use the Speed Dial which is about the same thing. TY again.
