Is there an alternative to DeskCut - creating desktop shortcuts.
Hi.
I have been using DeskCut to right click IN FF and send a URL Shortcut to my Desktop. Problem is that it does not copy the icon and uses a default "Mozilla" logo.
Has this add-on been updated or is there an alternative that can make me happy?
I know that FF itself can do this, but I have to resize the browser so I can move the shortcut to the desktop which is very inconvenient. Think that IE has the edge on this one!
Any help appreciated.
Thanks and cheers! :)

Hello,
You can double-click the titlebar to quickly toggle the window between maximized and restored states.
As far as I know, SaveLink is the only alternative, and it doesn't behave differently.
You can try contacting the authors of the add-ons and requesting the improvement you mentioned. Site icons for desktop shortcuts were added in bug 110894, if you need to reference it.
Hi Gingerbread Man,
Yes, I know about that trick with the titlebar. Bug 110894 has does not appear to have been addressed in ages.
Is there any of of escalating it?
BTW - I don't think that DeskCut is being supported any longer.
Cheers!

What is there to address? It was resolved all the way back in Firefox 17. Like I said, I only mentioned it for reference, so you can request the feature you want from the add-on author. "Could you please have your add-on create shortcuts with site icons? If you need to have a look at how Firefox does it, see bug 110894".
Hi Gingerbread Man,
Yes, I now see that thus FF bug is was addressed. Must have misread it.
I do find it a bit amazing that these developers are not updating their software. Perhaps someone else will pitch in and make my request a reality. Why FF does not have this easily working functionality with icons like IE is beyond me.
All I want is a quick shortcut to desktop with the icon. Sounds simple, IMO.
FWIW :)

Like I said, your best bet is to request the feature from the author(s) of SaveLink or deskCut. See the e-mail or homepage links on the right side of the add-on details pages:
- https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/deskcut/
If you want to request a feature in Firefox, file an enhancement bug report if an appropriate one doesn't already exist.
If you want to request an entirely new add-on, post a new message in the Add-on Ideas / Looking for an Add-on forum.
