If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web. this for all google websites, like gmail, youtube, etc.. but i can open yahoo, and other websites!! i have tried that ssl connection that was suggested in one of the FAQs but the problem was that: security.enable_ssl3 and security.enable_tls, both did not show up in about:config search results. and yes, my proxy settings are also fine. what to do next?
