I want to supply the user a shortcut, thats starts Firefox (not the default browser) and a url as parameter.

The solution above works fine, except if there is already a firefox session running. You wil get an Firefox message telling you to shutdown Firefox and try it again.

I found a way around this by adding a firefox profile and adding -P Profilename -no-remote. This workarount works, but not 100% fool proof. For example, a user starts my shortcut, browses away from the site I configured in my shortcut and he starts my shortcut again. The custom profile is in this example already in use, and he will receive the Firefox message we started with.

Is there someone who nows a way to work around this?

Thanks in advanced

A profile can only run in one instance of Firefox. You cannot open another instance of Firefox with a different profile unless it is a different installation of Firefox.
