Weird. If I go to another window or tab, and then go back to the original tab, the screen has "jumped" sometimes all the way to the bottom of the page (this happens in Ebay) or sometimes just an inch or two (downwards). So I have to fiddle with getting back to the correct location on the page.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Oh I'm nowhere NEAR Mavericks. Running OSX 10.6.8

I'm trying Hardware Acceleration to solve one of the OTHER numerous bugs with FF -- it takes about 30 seconds to switch to another tab, window, or application. For about 15 seconds nothing happens, then FF becomes "not responding" for about another 15 seconds, then the change occurs.
