I have no search bar and can't find where to get it back

Two things come to mind:
- Not currently on the toolbar. You can check the Customize dialog to see whether it's there and drag it back.
- On the toolbar, but because there are many icons to the left of it, it has overflowed onto the drop-down list (large » icon). You can use Customize to rearrange the items on the toolbar so that doesn't happen.
To customize, you can use:
"3-bar" menu button > Customize

Thank you so much I thought that as I had items in the blue box on the right that was all that was needed. Your suggestion got me on the right track, Bill
