Deleted Emails are just "grey" on Server

Hello everybody,

when I delete an Email in TB-Inbox it disappears in TB but not in my Online-Inbox of my Emailprovider. It is just grey there (not unread, not read, something different).

Is there a way to tell TB to remove the deleted Emails "completely"? At the moment I have to delete Emails twice. Sometimes I have to manage my emails in the browser so I prever not to have these grey "grey email-ghosts" there.

My Settings:

1) IMAP 2) Account Settings / Server Settings / When I delete a message / Move it to this folder / Trash 3) Account Settings / Synchronization & Storage / To recover disk space ... / - Don't delete any Messages CHECKED - Delete all but the most recent ... messages UNchecked - Delete messages more than ... days old UNchecked - Always keep starred messaged CHECKED

Once I told TB to delete Emails older than 30 days TB deleted everything older than 30 days in EVERY folder (although "Always keep starred messaged" was still CHECKED). So I'm a little bit afraid to make experiments in these options.

Thank you in advance! sj7

This would appear to be how your email providers webpage displays emails that are 'marked as deleted'. When you expunge /compact folders in Thunderbird it should disappear from webmail.

Please read info at this link, it will help to explain things.

Well, didn't know that IMAP simply works like this. Contacted my provider. Thank you!
