Many people @ apple worked for hours trying to help me recreate my computer but when I insisted on using Thunderbird they knew nothing about it! I "lost" all my collected email addresses & I had tons! my personal address book was empty so that's not an issue! Not only do I need help "finding" my "collected" address book, as I begin to use my computer, nothing is being saved to my new collected address book!! (???) PLEASE HELP!!!!

Can you locate multiple copies of abook.mab (personal address book) or history.mab (Collected addresses)?

you will normally find them in the root of your Thunderbird profile.

Normally instructions to locate it would be the following

  • Click on the menu button or menu bar.
  • From the Help menu, click Troubleshooting Information.
  • In the Application Basics section, Profile Folder, click on Show Folder .
  • The Windows Explorer/Finder will show the name of the profile as well as the path to it.

Unfortunately in this instance I have no idea where OSX would have placed such files or folders while the transfer occurred.
