Trying to move Thunderbird from laptop to desktop computer.

Copied the laptop TB profile to USB; received message during copy that some properties could not be copied to USB. Selected copy anyway.

Copied profile from USB to to desktop: ...roaming/Thunderbird/Profile.

Opened TB on desktop. All messages (unread and read) seemed to have been transferred into the desktop.

At this point I sent out a message addressed to me from my desktop but it did not show up on my laptop.

Checked the passwords between the desktop and laptop profiles and they both were the same.

Please help if you can!

I'm frustrated. Can anyone help me?

try emailing yourself from something like gmail or GMX. many providers these days drop mail to yourself as spam. Not very helpful in diagnosing problems, but that is how it is.

I do not receive any email on my desktop. I've checked my userid and password and both systems have the identical parameters.

One time a couple of weeks ago I successfully migrated TB to my desktop. but out-of-blue TB stopped working on my desktop several weeks after the migration. I've compared the tree structure on both systems and they seem to be identical.

I'm at a loss!
