I have 1890 contacts and I'm trying to put them in a newly created list but I can only get as far as k (all email address up to L) I've tried a second list for L to M but this only takes half the contacts

if you use lists (mail distribution lists) for most of the addresses any limit is imposed by your email provider's SMTP server.
