Someone has said it is in my deleted folder, but sorry, I don't know where that folder is. I tried to find in Trashcan but didn't know how to maneuver there.

Your Trash folder should be visible in the left-hand pane in Thunderbird.

View|Layout|Folder Pane to see it.

Of course it's possible that your message has been deleted directly, without going to Trash.

Note that in some accounts, "Trash" may be named "Bin", "Deleted", or similar.
