I use Thunderbird 38.4.0 on a Windows 7 Service Pack 1 computer. Months ago I added Lightning 4.0.4.1 and Exchange EWS Provider 3.5.0-beta1 so I could sync Calendar, Tasks and Contacts with my Microsoft Exchange 2007/2010/2013 EWS server from within lightning. It worked perfectly for many months. Then, without any updates that I was aware of, it stopped working from one day to the next. Now when I paste https://pod51011.outlook.com/ews/exchange.asmx into the Exchange server URL field and click on the Check Server and Mailbox button I get the following JavaScript error message: Error during checking of server and mailbox: HTTP Server error 503: Service unavailable URL:https://pod51011.outlook.com/ews/exchange.asmx I'm assuming that this is the reason that Lightning is no longer able to access my Office 365 calendar. However, it makes no sense that it can no longer access it. I have exactly the same setup at home with my Mac OS version of Thunderbird. I use the same server URL and it works just fine. Does anybody have any idea what I am missing here? I REALLY miss having that Lightning calendar there with my email. This problem has not affected Thunderbird's ability to retrieve email, btw. HELP (please).

OK. I think that I can clarify what the problem is to some degree. There was nothing wrong with the Exchange server URL. In fact, there was nothing wrong with my Exchange server username. The problem is that Thunderbird or Lightning or Exchange EWS Provider used to automatically prompt me for the Microsoft Exchange EWS server password. Now, I have to change the username and change it back again to "manually" get Exchange EWS Provider to connect to my calendar information. Does anybody have any idea how to get the application to do this upon the launch of Thunderbird (again)?

Thanks in advance for any help that can be provided in this area,

Bruce

I suggest you contact the folk supporting the ESW provider add-on.
