Why does Thunderbird version 38.5.1 show inaccurate message counts in Inbox, and ridiculous pink lines instead of messages in junk and spam?
Thunderbird 38.5.1 is corrupt and inaccurate: The unread message count in Inbox is totally inaccurate and does not reflect the actual number of new, unread messages or previous (read) messages. Spam and Junk folders show only a field with stupid diagonal pink lines; junk or spam messages are not shown and there is no way to review messages to be sure they are really junk or spam. The Trash folder occasionally shows a few messages to be discarded but usually shows nothing even if messages have been sent to Trash from the Inbox.
Please release a better update or re-release an older version that actually works.
I have used Thunderbird for more than 10 years, but I will dump this program and replace it with an improvement if the current problems are not addressed and corrected very quickly. This version is TERRIBLE! The information in the Forum anbd support files does not address any of the problems in 38.5.1
Thank you, geive

You probably have a QuickFilter option set and there aren't any messages matching the active criteria. Red lines etc. are often used to indicate zero matches, and are intended as a hint that you may not be asking it the question you thought you were.
For instance, I don't use tags or stars, so selecting either of those results in an empty page with pink diagonal stripes.
The message count usually includes messages in subfolders (indicated by an asterisk) so may not tally with what is immediately visible.
Are you using Unified Folders view? I find that this is notably bad at adding up.

Zanos,
Thank you for your efforts. The problems are partially solved. For your reference, I was inquiring about Thunderbird, not Firefox, and I do not have a Quick Filter activated. The hidden messages wee Mozilla's and Thunderbird's doing not mine.
Thank you,
