Cache is cleared, per instructions, shutting down system; restarting computer (10hrs later), cache full....what's the cause?? Hacked "networking ???

Where are you seeing a message that your cache is full? Firefox maintains the cache transparently in the background, discarding old information as needed, so it would be very odd to see any kind of message about the cache.

Regarding clearing the cache, next time could you do it manually using the steps in the following article and see whether that makes any difference: How to clear the Firefox cache.
