Thunderbird does not let me set a time delay for marking messages as read.

more options

Older versions of Thunderbird had a setting (somewhere) to set a delay time before marking new Inbox msgs as read when I click on them. This versiion 45.2.0 does not. But I still need to be able to control which msgs are marked as read for my own purposes, and it's annoying as hell (and completely unnecessary) to make users have to re-click everything..

I've looked through all the Options, global and account-level, and found nothing. Is there an obscure right-click somewhere that I missed?

Or did some thoughtless programmer simply decide that this feature gave users too much control, and needed to be removed?

Thanks for whatever you can tell me.

Huh. Dunno how the hell I missed it the other day, but you're right: there it is. Thanks.
