Every time I close Firefox I lose bookmark toolbar.

First I lost all my bookmarks stored in the bookmark toolbar. Now every time I put a site into the bookmark toolbar it saves it there, but when I close firefox and reopen it all save bookmarks in bookmark toolbar are gone. I've tried refreshing and starting in safe mode and it did nothing to help. I've done some research online about deleteing a certain file in firefox profiles,but I was unable to find the file. I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and Bitdefender total 2017. Can you help......Thanks, Mike

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.
