FF 56.0.1 will not stay put after minimizing, and constantly pops open after 15 seconds. Annoying. Started this as soon as I updated to latest version. Running Win 7 Ultimate 64bit. What to do? Thanks

Tried everything I can think of for 3 days running. Turned off a bunch of extensions, cleared cache, rebooted, etc.

FF Still will not stay put after minimizing to tray. Pops right back up within seconds. I'm forced to shut off the ' bouncing' browser to work on the desktop. Help!

Is there a Flash plugin active or a media player playing media files?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
