Currently FF and Mozilla as an organinzation has broken (to a certiain degree) LP from ver. 55 on. I don't know if this is intentional, as directed by the geniuses in the Executive Suite or just casual disregard. I have contacted LP and they have told me and reiterated that the only way to restore full fuctionality in LP on FF is to allow Third Party Cookies-always. Now I shouldn't have to tell the "Fastest and most Secure" web browser developer why allowing Third Party Cookies is NEVER, NEVER, NEVER going to happen. Soooo the question is simple: Does FF require LP to use Third Party Cookies for full functionality?

Hello, you can try switching to bitwarden, unlike lastpass they do not require this and they are also free and open source.

MkII Thank you for your response; however, I am really looking to determine whether it is LP who is requiring Third Party Cookies or is it Mozilla who is requiring an extension creator to have Third Party Cookies enabled. In other words LP pointed the finger at Mozilla. Perhaps Mozilla is to blame, perhaps not. Maybe there is no real "blame". However forcing Third Party Cookies isn't something many of us users are "ok" with.

Cookies always come from the site or their 3rd party vendor hosting not from FF or Mozilla. You need to contact LP if your having access issues here.

My understanding is it sets a third party cookie for lastpass.com to stop the session from expiring.

Try adding lastpass.com as an exception setting it to always allow.

WestEnd & TonyE, Your comments are my understanding as well. The discussion I was having with LP was about the WHY they would insist on using third party cookies as opposed to building functionality directly into the app. LP literally told me that the requirement for TPC's was required by FF...and that question is still to be answered. The conceren is that the cookie(s) are will be used for more than user functionality. Is someone trying to monetize the surfing patterns of their users? I say someone because the recommendation was to set TPC's to ALWAYS: I find that rather interesting. Short of breaking out a Hex reader and going line by line it's by far easier to simply dissallow cookies. Many of the sites and apps I've had for awhile have moved away from permanent cookies, and retain all of their functionality, making this requirement all the more questionable.

Support Volunteers can't make changes to Firefox. So in that note Support has answered your questions as best as possible. Mozilla ok;s Extensions submitted by the Developers to be used with Firefox. They ok them only and give the Developer a web page to distribute their Extension from. This in no means that Firefox Support does the Developers Support when their page https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/lastpass-password-manager/ has a Support link and a contact Link.

Please continue this with them or do further information gathering using Google to get what you need.
