One of my mailaccounts is missing its "Server Settings" folder under "Account Settings".

The same mail account is currently not working on Thunderbird. the following message is showen: "...Plaintext authentication disallowed on non-secure (SSL/TLS) connections." As far as i understand I have to change the connection type under server settings. But, as mentioned before, that folder is missing. (The only subfolders are Junk-Settings and DiskSpace)

Help is much appreciated!!! I would like to find a solution which doesent require deleting and reinstalling the account because i would like to keep all the mails....

That sounds like a description of the built-in Local Folders account.

Do you have an account named Local Folders?

I invited Martin_Thunder to a screen sharing session, and I'll give an update here once we are done.

No. Not that i see. In Account Settings i see all my accounts with the usual subfolders. Then on the bottom i find the account mentioned with only two subfolders (junk settings and disk space). Underneath there is still the "Outgoing Server" folder.

Do you think the "local folders" could have somehow merged with one of my accounts?

Yes, but I wouldn't say "merged". Usually this happens because a well-meaning user has chosen to rename Local Folders to something else that seems (to him!) more useful.

If you have RSS feeds or use Thunderbird for newsgroup accounts then Local Folders takes on a life of its own. To a user with a single pop-connected account, Local Folders appears somewhat redundant. This is when users seem most likely to attempt to rename or hide it.

Local Folders isn't properly a mail account. It doesn't have any servers associated with it. If you use it as a launch point for writing a message, your message will use the default identity (and its servers) and that real account, your default, is probably where the error message comes from.
