I have a rather strange problem with deleting cookies in firefox i think.

Via privacy settings>delete firefox does nothing, so i searched for some help and found that eventually my cookies.sqlite file might be corrupt or broken so i deleted it. But on the next start of firefox ALL of the cookies are back. I then let windows search for any *cookies.sqlite* file and deleted them again. No change, Firefox again has ALL cookies in store, as if there is some backup file or something.

Am i just missing something there? What i want is clearing all cookies, but without loosing my other data, such as saved logins etc.

Hope there is someone who can help me.

Thanks!

Hi, where do you still see cookies after removing cookies.sqlite?

(I assume you removed the file after Firefox had closed, and also removed any journaling files, cookies.sqlite-shm and cookies.sqlite-wal, that might have been left over.)

Note that "Cookies and Site Data -> Manage Data" shows Cookies and Site Data. Cookies have a number in the Cookies column. Site Data isn't stored in cookies.sqlite, but is stored in the storage folder in the profile folder, so do not get confused.

If you reopen tabs from the previous session (Startup -> Restore Previous Session) then Firefox stores the cookies as part of session data in sessionstore.jsonlz4.
