In the list of folders on the left, for this particular account, the Trash folder is missing. This is an IMap account. How can I get the trash folder back? I don't care if its empty, so long as it works as the trash folder.

All imap mail accounts need to subscribe to see any imap folder. Right click on imap mail account in Folder pane and select 'Subscribe'. A small window opens showing a list of imap folders. Select the Trash and click on 'Subscribe' button click on Ok

That fixed it. Thank you.

As a note to other people, I needed to exit and restart Thunderbird.

Also, I found both Junk and Trash were not subscribed. I subscribed to both and after restarting only Junk was there. I needed to subscribe again to Trash, exit and restart, and now both are shown. Thanks!

In my list of subscribed folders, I see neither "Trash" nor "Drafts" (which also disappeared when my sent folder disappeared, a problem Toad-Hall is helping mw with). How do I subscribe to a folder that no longer exists?
