When I update Adobe it makes me close Firefox. It will not ignore it. BUT when I close all the windows it will not bring them back when I restart it. Even though the setting on Firefox is to restart with previous tabs and windows, if I force it, it doesn't bring them back. How do you close several windows and bring them back? Today I had 5 windows up, updated Adobe, it kept telling me I had to close FF. So I did and ignored the close several tabs warning and when restarting it didn't bring them back.

Did you close Firefox using the menu command "Exit"? Either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > Exit
  • (menu bar) File > Exit

Firefox should retain a correct list of windows and tab in that case.

If neither of these is available (hidden or grayed out):

  • "3-bar" menu button > Restore Previous Session
  • (menu bar) History > Restore Previous Session

Then immediately check either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > Library > History > Recently Closed Windows
  • "Library" toolbar button > History > Recently Closed Windows
  • (menu bar) History > Recently Closed Windows

Anything there?

Note that private windows are never saved to disk and cannot be restored in a new Firefox session.

The browser the installer if for must be closed because the current flash files will be in use.

That is how it works on Windows, you need to close applications that use the Shockwave Flash plugin. On Linux there is no problem to install/update a new Flash version while Firefox is running even if Flash is used.
