Hello,

This kind of problem is already asked and solved a lot, but sadly, I have an annoying variation of this kind of problem: Create/Write a new mail, let the windows open until it autosaves it as a draft and then send your mail. Problem is, that the autosaved mail is not deleted from drafts after sending.

Moving the drafts folder to local storage isn't an option.

Hi I had that happen and it was a problem syncing with the corporate email system (MS Exchange) I was connecting to. I found it was important to stay connected for a while after sending. It resolved somewhat with upgrades to the corporate server, but I am still conscious that the drafts cleanup happens a little after send completes, even when using their own webmail not Thunderbird. Just a thought, this may not be your issue.

No, this is sadly not the problem. We are using plain "old" IMAP(S).

My problem is this problem: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1309745 still exists.

It was resolved with the workaround of storing drafts on the local machine, which can be a solution for unshared mailboxes, but we have this problem in a shared mailbox, where everything has to be synced.

Additionally, another related bug has been discovered: The icon counter is displaying a wrong amount of drafts too.

I read today (in a bug report?) where user had the same problem, and the cause was something like Drafts was mapped to another imap folder, perhaps Templates. Or templates was mapped to drafts.

I'd check Copies and Folders tab in account settings.
