Is there any way to prevent a website from adding history entries in the back button dropdown menu just because I clicked a button, which opened a confirmation modal, and closed the modal, remaining on the same initial page?

For instance there is a site I use, which has a list of my posts, with buttons to delete the posts. I click the delete button, this opens an "Are you sure?" modal window, I click delete, the modal closes, I am on the same original list page with the same URL, but now I have another pseudo-page in my back button history that I have to go through.

If I do this with three more posts, I will have an additional three back button history dropdown entries to navigate back through.

When I exceed the number of entries shown in the dropdown, I have to keep clicking through the quasi-paginated list of duplicated back button history entries for the same exact page, to get back to the page I was on before ever going to the list page.

There is no way to prevent a website from adding entries to the tab history if you open a new page (link) in the same tab. You can hold the left mouse button on either back or forward button or right-click the button to open tab history list and skip entries.
