Reinstalling the latest version of Firefox

more options

I tried to open Firefox and a message appeared: "Couldn't load XPCOM". I uninstalled the program with Revo Uninstaller Pro and downloaded the latest version. I selected Run as Administrator but there is a message that says "Windows cannot have access to the selected device, path or file. Maybe you don't have access rights". However, I do have access rights. I have checked it multiple times. How can I install Firefox and see it work properly? Thanks

Never use 3rd party Uninstaller Firefox already has its own uninstaller. That program most likely messed the uninstall and now you need to remove the Firefox folder to reinstall Firefox again.

Hi, you should not need to install as administrator. What happens when you try to install normally?

It doesn't recognize my administrator rights and it doesn't allow me to install normally.

That's not good then that's a possible corrupted OS and might require a complete wipe and reinstall of the OS to fix that issue before you can install any software now.

There is an uninstaller in the add / remove program for Firefox. Why use a 3rd party app for this simple task??? Keep it simple please! Boot to safe mode and see what you can do.

In case you haven't already, could you test with a "full" installer rather than the small installer that needs to fetch more files:

https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release

There's also an MSI installer, which may or may not bypass restrictions on EXE installers. Here's a link to the installers for the "el" locale (corresponds with "Ελληνικά"). If I have selected the wrong language folder, please click the ".." link to move up one level and then click into the correct locale folder.
