every page that opens is too small to read- even typing this text, is very small to see. Almost impossible to select these very tiny buttons on websites. I am forever typing Ctrl ++ to beef up the size- and every new page I have to do it again. This does not occur on Explorer, but I do NOT wish to use Explorer! How do I permanently change the text sizing in Firefox?

The Firefox Page Zoom feature does a domain by domain level of saving the users preferred zoom level settings, there is no default Page Zoom level setting in Firefox.

Try the Default FullZoom Level extension:

Or the NoSquint extension:

Older versions of Firefox used to remember the last page zoom level set by the user for every domain visited - even after you restarted the browser! This was a great feature, I wish the newer versions had it.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.

  • You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
  • To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
  • Deselect: [ ] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"
