How can I delete repeated bookmarks from the bookmarks toolbar?
My Firefox 6.02 bookmarks toolbar shows the same two bookmarks repeatedly (3 times and two times) so there is no space for the favourite bookmarks I had originally. How can I delete the repeated bookmarks icons in the toolbar? I tried to drag them to trash, but without success. I could not do it from view/ toolbars/customize either.

There is more than one method for doing this but the best method is probably to use the bookmarks library.
Note also that
- the name displayed on the bookmarks may be edited, to shorten the display space used, even reducing it to an icon
- the bookmarks may be nested within folders, so each becomes a dropdown list, of bookmarks or further folders.

Post back with how you get on.
Yes, thank you: the second mail was sent by error. I followed your advice and managed to get rid of duplicate bookmarks on the bookmarks toolbar, by dragging them into the bookmarks library. Now I have to learn how to erase them from the folders there. They cannot be dragged to trash. Where do I find instructions? I will appreciate your reply.
You need to remove the bookmarks in the Bookmarks Manager (Library) or via the right-click context menu in the bookmarks sidebar.
- Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks

Thanks again for your reply. The Edit bookmarks offers now to delete 4 bookmarks; i.e. not only the unwanted triplicate bookmarks in the Bookmarks Menu, but also the one I want to keep in the bookmarks toolbar. It will delete all repeated bookmarks or nothing. I think this is taking too long to sort out. I do not have right click in my mouse - Is that what you mean?
If you use Edit This Bookmark then that means that you have the site open in a tab. In such a case you can remove all copies and then re-bookmark the site once again with a single click on the star followed by another click if you want to change the folder. That is the easiest way to remove bookmarks that have copies.
