I know that the apostrophe key opening the quickfind bar is a wanted feature of Firefox, but I need to disable it. There are sites (especially games) that use that key for ingame feature, and the quickfind bar gets in the way of playing.

I've googled for solutions, and found: a) disable the "Search for text when I start typing" option under preferences/advanced/general b) add the "searchkeys.disable.all" config boolean key, set to true

Neither worked for me, the damn quickfind bar still comes up. I want it completely disabled.

Is there a way to do that?

Thanks

You need an extension that adds support for that pref to make it work.
