A possibility is to downgrade to Flash 11.2 and re-enable the RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension in the Add-ons manager (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) (it's a softblock).

If you need to revert to Flash 11.2 then you can download the Flash 11.2 player via this direct link:

You need to uninstall the Flash 11.3 version.

That "Record" Plugin was blocklisted due the number of crashes it was causing.

i dont know why it is blocked but the video downloader is not working and without that i really have no choice but to revert back to IE coz that is very important to me,is there no way to solve this issue

The button has been working fine for me until Mozilla disabled it because for some people it was crashing them? Seriously, the policing for the masses is kind of lame. Just DISABLE it in a dot release for people who have had problems instead of screwing EVERYBODY over by blocklisting it. FF is getting to be like IE apparently...

Video issues on YouTube can be caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update.

wow thanx your solution really worked but it sucks to hear that i cannot have the latest version of flash player coz Firefox cannot sort out its issues and problems,i hope a new version will come soon enough to handle all the latest versions of flash and real player.

thanks again.

Not a Firefox created problem.

Released on June 5th - Firefox 13.0 was working fine with Flash 11.2, then on June 8th Adobe released the 11.3 version of Flash and all hell broke loose.

Thank you the-edmeister. Maybe you can answer my other questions: 1) Windows Media Player Plugin and Adobe Flash Player Plugin both indicate that they are installed but do not show up on the Plugin page so I can activate one of them. Why? 2) Java(TM) Platform SE 6 U31 and Java Deployment Toolkit 6.0.310.5 (which appear to be the same update) on the Plugin page both say they need to be updated even though I just updated them and restarted my computer and restarted Firefox. Why? 3) Google Earth Plugin says it needs updating but the links/button don't do anything. Why? 4) In the midst of messing with all of these plugin mysteries, my previous browsing session just disappeared. The Firefox/History/Restore Previous Session is greyed out. How can I get it back. I had some important (to me) tabs open that I wanted to keep a bit longer. 5) Why did I have to get this deep into the "system" to find out that this is an adobe Flash problem? All of the easy to get to Mozilla webpages seem to be all sunshine and roses. The Plugin page only says that RealPlayer is blocked. There is no indication that it is due to a new Firefox update or someone else's fault. I have also found no work around, or information telling me that there's no work around.

This is definitely not a Realplayer's but a Firefox's problem coz Chrome and IE both work well. Shifting the blame onto Realplayer by either disabling their plugin or suggesting users to "fix" the problem by disabling the plugin is not the right way to "solve" the problem.

Maybe this is the wrong place to post this but I don't know where to go to complain. I don't use IE because if is a crap browser in my opinion. I don't use Chrome because it is a crap browser. Now Firefox keeps losing it's Google toolbar with every update and this last update has lost RealPlayer of all things (And it lost my current browser session!). And it's been this way for nearly a week or more. This makes Firefox an intolerable browser also. Can you suggest a dependable browser I can use until you get things straightened out? It didn't used to be this way. Things worked smoothly.

I downgraded to Flash 10 as suggested on the linked page and now I have video!

I don't know what I'm going to do when I get the "Do you want to upgrade?" message but at least it's working as well as it was before.

Why didn't the-edmeister suggest this solution and provide a link to this page?

you need to ensure adobe flash doesn't upgrade back to 11.3, until this issue is resolved

I think, but am not totally sure, that I have it fixed to ask me before it updates.

Having to downgrade something (flash) in order to adapt to and get around a problem related to something upgraded (firefox) sounds ridiculous and not the right approach.

Get firefox to fix it for their users coz it's definitely firefox's problem, and no one else!

I followed others advise on here, and downgraded my flash back to 10.3, since it was more stable than 11.2. After doing this, my RealPlayer Record Button returned. However, I cannot use the Realplayer Converter, it keeps saying I need to install flash before I can play .flv videos (thus no conversion). Everything, used to work so well, then all the updates and now mayhem. My question is how do I get back the video conversion ability?

thanks

I'm having the same problem now with the realplayer download button (and it the download option is not there either when right clicking) not working on firefox. I tried to downgrade to 10 10.3 as suggested but it will not let me. I keep getting an error message and to go to their page to download the latest version. Any suggestions?

I've been having the same issue, and reverting back to the older Adobe Flash did in fact, fix the problem. However - be sure and don't install Ad Block! That killed the whole thing for me, made it so I couldn't watch Yt vids again. So I had to repeat the uninstall/install process to get it back. For some reason, ad block reverts you to the newest Adobe Flash.

Dakota66, Did you uninstall your current version of Flash before you tried to install the earlier version (10.3)?

I'm not speaking from experience or knowledge here - just giving a hopefully helpful guess.
