I am using Fireforx 17.0 for Mac. for any webpage, press back/return button doesn't back to the early page. Even using the hot key, still doesn't work. It works in the earlier versions.

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox Profile Folder.

I rebuilt my places.sqlite and also tried to use the Places Maintenance add-on to help. None of them works. The problem is still there.

Does the Tab history appear if you hold down the left mouse button on the Back button?

Does that button appear disabled?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

It helps out the problem. Finally find that the problem was caused by one of the add-on called "tab manager" developed by Mozilla itself. Now I have disable and remove it from add on. Hope Mozilla can help to fix it and I can still use "tab manager" in next version firefox. Thanks!
