I can only view videos if I change the URL to HTTPS and use https://www.youtube.com. Videos are blacked out if I use http://www.youtube.com. What setting do I need to change? This a recent problem.

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
