no drag and drop on mavericks
Hi,
I use the same version of Thunderbird (24.6.0) on one old Computer (Mac OS 10.8) and on one new Computer (Mac OS 10.9). On the new one I cannot drag mails into folders. Messages aren't even draggable. It works fine on the older OS.
Here are some things I tried with no success:
- create a new, empty profile - deactivate all extension, restart
What does work is to move messages using the context menu action.
Thanks for any help with this problem. Lars

See if anything in the MAC discussion helps. https://discussions.apple.com/message/24013372
I'm sorry. Drag&Drop is not a problem on Mac OS X but inside Thunderbird. I cannot drag a message over to a Thunderbird folder.
The misunderstanding was probably caused by my using of the Mac OS X Versions in the question. But I did this only to illustrate, that Thunderbird D&D works fine on Mountain Lion, but not on Mavericks.
I don't even need to drag something in from outsite thunderbird into a message (which btw works).
Thank you.
There are no drag and drop settings in Thunderbird. That is an operating system function. You might restart Thunderbird with add ons disabled and see if one of those are causing problems. You can do that from the Help menu.
I tried all that. So I assume it might be a bug of some sort. Is there a better place to post a possible bug, than this support forum?

Thank you. I will post it there.
Just if anyone is interested I found out that Drag&Drop of messages DOES WORK, it just doesn't show an Drag-Icon while dragging, so one could think it does nothing at all.
Macbook Pro 2014 Macosx 10.9.4 Thunderbird 31.0 (but same problem was there in several older versions)
Exact same problem. Drag and drop of e-mail selections to other folders DOES WORK, but NO drag and drop icon appears while doing the operation - only the target folder does light up.
The drag and drop icon DOES appear in finder and other applications - just not in thunderbird.
Yes, just to be sure I updated the Mac, and Thunderbird (I was on a few versions older), and rebooted the system. Problem still there.
Also tried the workaround from https://discussions.apple.com/message/24013372 (which seemed not apt, but you never know). Problem still there.
Also restarted Thunderbird with all add-ons disabled (safe mode), but problem still there.
My best guess is that this started happening with the Macosx upgrade to Mavericks - not 100% sure of that though.
Anyone? It's an annoying bug as drag/drop becomes rather mysterious.
