I set up sync on the PC (Windows 7, FF ESR 24.8.1, up to date) , but nothing is happening on the Android tablet (FF for Android, 32.0.3). On Android, Settings, FF, shows the Sync account as signed in, and shows option to configure Sync, but that's it. Says that sync occurred (but it did not work) (have configured to sync only bookmarks). FF Settings, Sync, only shows option to configure sync. If I uncheck the sync account in Android settings, and then go to FF settings, Sync, message says "Sync is set up but not synching automatically." Tap to sync. No bookmarks have come over from the PC with any of these moves.

Can sync occur between 2 such different versions of FF? If yes, how to undo all of this and try to set it up again from scratch? And what have I done wrong?

Updated ESR but the Android is still not synching.

Did you create a new Sync account? Then sign into that account on both desktop and Android?

I deleted the old account and set up a new account, though with same email and password. Emails were exchanged and the account was verified and set up. On Android, I was told to sign in and did. I clicked Sync now on the PC, but still nothing seems to be happening.
