new windows open smaller than existing windows

I'm using FF version 41.0.1. When I open a new window from either a link by right clicking or using Ctrl-N, the window that opens is about half the size of the existing windows.

I've tried working in FF safe mode, restarting with add-ons disabled, refreshing FF and losing my extensions and add-ons, and creating a bookmark with javascript:window.resizeTo(1280,800); in it but nothing has worked. The bookmark didn't do anything.

If I have 3 windows open when I shutdown FF or reboot, the windows open again and in the correct sizes as they were the previous session. The problem is with new windows.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Try to rename (or delete) the xulstore.json file in the Firefox profile folder.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

I found the folder, closed FF, renamed the file, opened FF, opened a new window (it was still smaller than the others), closed FF, opened FF, opened a new window (it was still smaller than the others.

Thanks. Any other ideas. Do you know why the bookmark using the javascript:window.resizeTo(1280,800); command wouldn't work?
