Apps from App Store like ad block plus only seem to work on Safari, and most extensions aren't on the App Store.

Hi rdsundberg.

Probably not.

Firefox for iOS currently does not support own extensions and add-ons, as it is not able to use own browser engine (Gecko) due to Apple restrictions. The extensions/apps like AdBlock are also very limited by iOS API restriction, and probably all of them work in Safari only (read: alternative browsers in iOS are very limited - cannot use own engines and other apps/extensions cannot affect them).

Firefox for iOS is basically a shell.

The Extensions listed at https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/ are for desktop Firefox.

https://addons.mozilla.org/android/ are for the mobile Firefox for Android.

Extensions is a Addon as the word Addons (started during Firefox 2.0/3.0 days) groups together the separate Extensions, Themes (complete and images), Plugins, search engines, dictionaries.
