thunderbird mailbox disappeared. what happened? win 10 of course

I clicked mailbox icon and when elsewhere while it was loading. Came back it had disappeared. No where in my computer do I find that thunderbird box. Saved e-mail lets me send out but can't get new mail.

The first part of what you say indicates Thunderbird is missing. the second that you are having issues getting mail.

I am totally confused.

I don't know why it left but I finally went to Mozilla & downloaded another mailbox. When it arrived it was filled with my mail. Thank you Matt.
